Biography

Mehmet Doğan has been serving in different fields of the energy sector in Turkey and abroad with an experience of +30 years providing technical assessments, conceptual designs, feasibility studies, decarbonization solutions, assessments on new energy technologies and market entry strategies.

Having worked on national and international energy projects and gaining a vast knowledge of the dynamics of the energy sector, he established GazDay in 2011 to provide consultancy and training to major energy market players. His areas of expertise in the energy industry include conducting due diligence studies, forecasting price changes, drafting, and reviewing sales and purchase, transit and compression contracts, carrying out investment feasibility studies for energy sellers; as well as supporting energy procurement, budgeting and energy strategy development processes for energy buyers.

As a close observer of the recent trends in the energy markets and new technologies in energy transition processes, Mehmet recently focuses on decarbonization road map studies and prepares customized solutions for GazDay’s industrial clients. He is a member of the team conducting a road map study on offshore wind power plants for the World Bank and conducting market research and assessments in Turkey, across Europe, and the USA on green hydrogen, biogas, biomethane, solar energy, large scale batteries and storage options. He also provides green procurement, decarbonization, and energy market consultancy for Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) in Turkey.

As part of his early work within GazDay, he provided consultancy and training on project and engineering management of EPC works, hydraulic analysis of pipelines, as well as load calculations, basic and detailed engineering of pipelines, compressor stations and pump stations for the major players in the oil and gas markets.

Mehmet is providing training to multinational energy companies and other major industrial players including BP, Total, EnBw, Uniper, Engie, Shell, OMV, Equinor, Solar Turbines, Unilever, Henkel, Novartis, Pfizer, Mitsui & Co, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, SOCAR, Leviathan JV, on energy markets, energy transition, decarbonization and new technologies.

He is a sought-after speaker at major energy conferences, webinars, and events in Turkey and abroad, and has wide coverage in Turkish and international press with his to-the-point analyses, articles, and statements on recent developments in the energy markets.

Mehmet received a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1991 and holds a technical inspector license for the safe operation of natural gas transmission ⇐ back
