Andrei CRISAN

Dr. Andrei Crișan is a lecturer at the Politehnica University Timișoara, within the Department of Steel Structures and Structural Mechanics, and Head of the Center for Innovation and Technological Transfer (CITT). A structural engineer by education, his academic and research activity combines steel structures with advanced numerical simulations and digital engineering methodologies.

His current work focuses on Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins, and structured information management across the entire lifecycle of built assets. He is particularly interested in the integration of simulation-driven approaches with BIM-enabled workflows, supporting performance-based design and decision-making.

With over a decade of experience bridging academia and industry, he contributes to applied research and international initiatives such as the BIM2in project, advancing training frameworks that connect BIM, Digital Twins, and simulation with real-world applications in Cultural Heritage, LCA and manufacturing.
